TRUMP’S CHUMPS

So I haven’t blogged about politics in a while and began to wonder why not.  Really, if you want to see psychopaths and psychopathic organizations in action, watch politics.  Lately, like everyone else, I’ve been fascinated with Donald Trump.  The man is so clearly a narcissist its hard to imagine anyone would take him seriously.  But it appears there are thousands who think he is going to look out for them and make America Great Again.  Con men have a name for those they use:  CHUMPS.  And so we have the emergence of TRUMP’S CHUMPS.

Ok.  lets go to the DSM-IV and look at the traits.

“Diagnostic Features: The essential feature of Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, admiration, and lack of empathy that begins by early adulthood and is present in a variety of contexts.  Individuals with this disorder have a grandiose sense of self importance often appearing boastful and pretentious.”  This section goes on for a few more paragraphs.  Believe me, when you run across someone with this disorder, you know it.  Here are the Diagnostic Criteria:

  • Has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g. exaggerates achievements and talents, experts to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements).
  • Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty or ideal love.
  • Believes that he or she is special and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with other special or high status people (or institutions).
  • Requires excessive admiration.
  • Has a sense of entitlement, i.e. unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations.
  • Is interpersonally exploitive, i.e. takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends.
  • Lacks empathy: is willing to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others.
  • Is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her.
  • Show arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes.

I don’t think I need to give examples of Trump’s behavior to say he meets the above criteria.  Its clear he delights in the spot light, feels entitled to the position, cares little for the feelings of the protestors who are abused by his supporters, and his exploitation of the less fortunate is legendary (e.g. Trump University students, foreign workers, etc.).  How anyone can think this man gives a damn about the problems of the middle and working class is beyond me.

Which brings me to what it takes to be a Chump.  You have to be so desperate that you are willing to ignore the egotism, the lies, the meanness, the childish taunts, the insults and the mockery.  You clamor to be on his side and think he is on yours.  He’s not.  He’s using you.  Deep down you know this.  These politicians are not fools.  They know exactly what makes you cheer.  What does that say about you?  Time to gather up what remains of your self respect and seek hope somewhere else.  Problem is, during the last Republican Debate, I didn’t see hope anywhere on the stage– only a narcissist, a couple of psychopaths and two lackeys.

Our time is running out and there is no time left for politicians to continue to act like imbeciles.   Trump says he loves the under-educated.  He’s not kidding.  He’s counting on them.  Every con man loves a chump.

I know this post is a little harsh.  I think I’m a little fed up with chumps.
